This crowdfunding campaign is raising the required funds to create a social business in Germany & Guatemala by selling its unique, high-quality jackets with the goal of supporting the indigenous Mayan communities in Guatemala through job creation and social projects. A group of 20+ passionate professionals from 7 countries has worked for higher than a year, along with their main jobs and without salaries, to construct the foundation of a premium brand and develop an outstanding product that is competitive on the global market. Now we're starting the sale of our KINAM jackets for the first time in order to organically scale KINAM to become globally known social brand in the coming years.
Despite the invaluable cultural treasures of yesteryear, nearly all Mayan descendants in Guatemala has to live of only some dollars per day. It's been the reason behind many Mayan descendants to flee the nation as part of the often mentioned refugee “caravan†moving from Central America to the Southern border of the United States.
KINAM wants to create the beauty of the Mayan culture to the world. Our enterprize model may help the Mayans regain control of the destiny by providing indigenous tribes opportunities for a much better future, through small-business ownership and education programs.
